This 1984 Jackson Dinky Custom is a rare pre-production instrument built before the Dinky became an established model in the Jackson lineup. The factory ledger lists it as a “D. Strat,” reflecting the Stratocaster-inspired body shape before the Dinky name was adopted. Its neck-through-body construction follows the design of the contemporary Soloist, while the custom-order appointments include dot fingerboard inlays and an unbound headstock. This unusual combination of Dinky-style details and Soloist construction makes it a distinctive example of Jackson’s early San Dimas-era custom work.
