This 2026 Fender Custom Shop CuNiFe Blackguard Telecaster Heavy Relic takes the familiar Blackguard formula in a different direction with a neck-mounted CuNiFe Wide Range humbucker. Originally developed in the 1970s, the CuNiFe design offers a clear, open response that complements the bite and twang of the traditional Telecaster bridge pickup without overpowering it. The Heavy Relic black finish gives the guitar the appearance of decades of hard use, with extensive wear that highlights the ash body and classic Blackguard styling underneath. Paired with period-inspired hardware and Custom Shop construction, this is an interesting blend of Fender's earliest solidbody design and one of its more uncommon pickup designs, resulting in a Telecaster that stands apart without losing its identity.
