This 1963 Gibson ES-345 wears a Sunburst finish and has seen a fair amount of use over the years, with a number of player-oriented modifications along the way. Originally equipped with a stereo wiring system and Varitone circuit, it has been converted to mono operation with modern potentiometers and Bumblebee-style capacitors, while the original electronics package remains preserved in the case pocket. The pickup arrangement has also changed, now featuring a Patent Number humbucker in the bridge position and an undetermined PAF-style replacement in the neck. Additional work includes a refret, replacement nut, later wired Patent Number ABR-1 bridge, replacement tailpiece, later reflector knobs, and a single replacement tuner button. Evidence of a previously installed Roland synth system remains in the form of a professionally plugged side-mounted output jack hole, while the bridge post holes were previously filled and redrilled with localized finish touch-up. The guitar remains in very good vintage condition with lacquer checking throughout and delivers the lively, resonant response that has kept early ES-series semi-hollows in demand for decades. Includes Victoria Luggage Co. hard shell case.
