This 1953 Gibson Les Paul Standard Gold Top is an early example of Gibson’s original solidbody electric, featuring the classic carved maple top, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, and dual P-90 pickups. The Gold Top finish and simple single-cutaway design give it the unmistakable look of the early Les Paul, while this example still features its original trapeze bridge. This example has been refretted and fitted with a replacement jack plate, with the rest of the guitar retaining its vintage character. Some weather checking and mild playing wear are present throughout. Overall, this is a great-playing early Les Paul with plenty of the character that makes these first-generation Gold Tops so distinctive. Includes original four-latch brown Lifton case
