From Gibson: "The 1957 Les Paul™ is beloved by players as one of the most desirable guitars from the first Gibson Golden Age. It is celebrated for its playability and the unmistakable voice that helped define an era of electric guitar tone. This 1957 Les Paul Reissue, Ultra Heavy Aged, Mustard Gold, is part of the Gibson Custom Limited Edition Collection, a curated selection of unique instruments inspired by decades of Made to Measure custom orders and the creativity of the Gibson Custom Shop luthiers in Nashville, Tennessee. It captures everything players love about an early Les Paul while offering the nuance, character, and individuality that only a Gibson Custom limited run can deliver. Crafted with a lightweight, one-piece solid mahogany body and a two-piece plain maple top, this Les Paul displays the style and tone that made the originals so sought after. Its Ultra Heavy Aged nitrocellulose lacquer finish, artfully applied and aged by the Murphy Lab team, recreates the look and feel of a well-loved vintage instrument, complete with the rounded edges, extensive checking, and heavy playing wear that only time, or a Murphy Lab artisan, can create. Paired with period-correct single ply binding and classic styling, the result is a guitar that feels instantly familiar and endlessly inspiring. The mahogany neck features the hand-filling 1950s Chunky D profile, and a long neck tenon, providing players with the substantial grip and resonance that define late 50s playability. A rosewood fretboard with cellulose trapezoid inlays, Historic narrow/tall frets, and a 24.75-inch scale length all contribute to the authentic feel. The nylon nut and 12-inch fretboard radius complete a setup that is both vintage correct and comfortable in your hands, whether you’re playing first-position cowboy chords or searing leads further up the fretboard. This 1957 Les Paul Reissue is powered by a pair of unpotted, underwound Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups. Like a vintage set of Patent Applied For humbuckers™ that received a few fewer wire wraps on the bobbins, they deliver unmistakable late 50s Patent Applied For clarity and warmth with a bit of extra sweetness while still delivering plenty of drive and crunch when pushed hard. Wired with two volume controls, two tone controls, and a three-way toggle switch, this configuration offers a broad tonal palette suitable for everything from brilliant cleans to rich, harmonically complex overdrive. The aged True Historic nickel pickup covers remain true to the model’s vintage-inspired character. Other aged nickel hardware includes an ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece. True Historic aged cream plastics, Kluson® Deluxe tuners, and gold Top Hat knobs complete the period-authentic build. Each guitar includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a Lifton™ reissue hardshell case. This limited-edition 1957 Les Paul Reissue, Ultra Heavy Aged, Mustard Gold honors one of the most iconic instruments in Gibson history while offering collectors and players a uniquely crafted expression of a timeless classic."
