In 1994, Gibson released a collection of masterbuilt reissues of their most iconic models to celebrate their 100th year of business. Only 100 of each model were made, and we're proud to offer #35/100 of the 1940 Jumbo 55 run. Very few of these were built in the late 30's / early 40's, and this reissue remains true to the unique specifications of the original run. This guitar features a 16″ sloped-shoulder body, mahogany back and sides, and moustache bridge. Other appointments include a sloped scalloped pickguard, pearl-inlaid Gibson logo, and the "Centennial Special" sterling silver plaque on the back of the stairstep-shaped headstock. NOS with original case, book, COA and other memorabilia. This is a fantastic and rare piece for any Gibson collector.
