This 1964 Gibson Johnny Smith model is a time capsule of one of Gibson's top of the line instruments. Made for the legendary jazz guitarist of "Walk Don't Run" fame, this rare double pickup model was the finest acoustic-electric archtop money could buy in 1964 with its gorgeous "Sunburst" finish carved spruce top and pair of floating mini-humbucking pickups. The original owner spared no expense and even had the tailpiece engraved with his name. The original hard shell case is in pristine condition with its factory case cover, and comes with all the case candy including the original 1/4" to 1/8" cable, strings, hang tags, receipts and correspondence from the original dealer, and even an old polaroid of the guitar! This is one the most stunning and complete Gibson archtops we have ever seen, and would be the highlight of any collection of fine archtops.
